      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Superion (BC) (Surrey, BC) in Sep 2024

      Interview

It was a refreshing interview. I've had a few interviews (as have we all). Most companies use their HR staff to perform interviews who ask the questions that have been presented to them. Not Superion. After the tech assessment, the CEO and I had a one-on-one, going over the tech assessment. It was refreshing to speak to someone that actually knows tech, and not just knows it, but knows it in detail. Yeah, he's been hands-on, for decades. Knows what the process is that should be followed. I was a little thrown at that point as I was expecting to be dealing with a mid-level tech, or maybe a manager that would simply go through the motions trying to throw curve-balls or try tricking me into saying the wrong things. Nope - we did role-play of what a typical, yet challenging, situation would be. I didn't ace all the situations, but managed to get to the core of each problem. After that I met the Senior staff on a 3-on-1. These were all down-to-earth people, not someone that didn't understand the position. We chatted about the position itself and who I was and what would be expected.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I'm not going to give away their processes, or what they ask. This is core to who they are. If you have the required experience, you would be able to either answer the questions, or get to the answers. I'm not going to make it easier for someone not qualified to try sneak into the position. Doing so would only lower the quality of the services that Superion provides. Be honest. Know your stuff.

      Interview

This company is unprofessional. No technical person comes for the interview; instead, the CEO himself shows up, who doesn't know anything. He asks questions, and even if you provide the correct resolution steps, he'll still say you don't know enough, asking negative follow-up questions. In the end, he'll make you feel like you're not fit for the job and suggest you join as an intern somewhere else. So, I'd say, if you get an interview opportunity with them, don't go. It’s likely to be a very toxic environment.

How do you troubleshoot software related issue as level 1 and asking questions related to Application team.

I want to address some points raised in your review. At Superion Inc., we take our hiring process very seriously, and I believe you have inaccurately described how we conduct interviews. Our initial interviews are phone screenings, primarily designed to verify the legitimacy of the candidate and the information on their resume. These screenings are sometimes conducted by third parties or non-technical HR staff to ensure efficiency. This step is crucial for making sure that candidates meet the basic qualifications needed for the role. The first in-depth interviews are then conducted by senior staff members, who possess extensive technical knowledge and experience. If you had progressed to this stage, you would have had the chance to meet with me, Mike Burton, the CEO of Superion Inc. I have nearly 30 years of experience in IT and hold multiple certifications. My goal during these interviews is to assess a candidate's technical skills and fit within our team. Our industry is highly competitive, and only the best-qualified candidates move forward in the process. It's also important to note that your review contains elements that are strikingly similar to a fake employee review posted around the same time. This raises concerns about the authenticity of your claims and suggests that our process for identifying candidates who align with our company’s values of trustworthiness and integrity is effective. I wish you all the best in your job search and future career.
