    Interview Questions

    • primarily behavioral interview.....but be prepared for questions you may not expect.   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

The opportunity was great but the base pay was at the poverty level. We'll below the living wage for the Chicago metro area. Commission sounded very attractive but I know very we'll that commission structures change. If the base was more competitive or negotiable I would have accepted. Most people would be unable to support themselves off the base salary alone.

Probably a great job for someone right out of college that doesn't have a lot of experience and no other financial responsibility.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at SurePayroll (Glenview, IL) in August 2015.

    Interview

Rec'd a call from a Recruiter, great lady very nice. She scheduled a face to face interview with a DSM. Face to Face interview lasted around 40 mins, typical interview questions. The DSM had 2 pages of questions, kind of bounced around the questions. DSM gave off a feeling he wanted the "text book" answer to his questions. When giving an answer that wasn't "normal" it showed on his face.

The DSM said the have a "Blackout Period" no Time Off from December to end of February, soon as they said that I had no interest in the position.

    Lead Role Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SurePayroll in January 2015.

    Interview

More than the interview, I have a diminished respect for companies that use outdated applicant systems with total disregard to privacy and flexibility. This company uses an tool call 'APPONE' that is not at all user friendly. It is like submitting the candidate details into a blackhole and can't even see what has been submitted. Frustrating and hopeless apps. Wonder when we would have a ATS systems that are smarter and more candidate friendly or maybe the whole sourcing process should be automated to disintermediate and eliminate the lethargic and hands-off recruiting department. Atleast companies can save money and have better candidate experience.
