A time was set up for a face to face interview. The was no preliminary phone screen other than discussion with HR about availability and company benefits. The HR discussion included a set of preliminary high level general questions. Once the interview was set up I was scheduled to meet with team members at the job site. When I arrived at the job site I was given a tour of the facility and then met with management and team members representing the role I was interviewing for. I was asked about my professional background and experience and told about the job responsibilities and how the team I would be working with was organized. I was able to ask various questions to get an idea of tasks and responsibilities the position included. One of the interviewers turned out to be the main person I worked with on the job. The manager representative was my initial functional manager. Unfortunately, the position as described in the interview changed once I arrived and settled in. I had to be "approved" by a customer representative that had no idea if I was qualified or not.
