      Workplace Intern Interview

      Dec 27, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Palo Alto, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in Nov 2025

      Interview

The interview process consisted of three rounds: • Round 1: Interview with the manager • Round 2: Interview with the manager’s manager • Round 3: Final interview with the hiring manager Round 1 was fairly easy and mostly behavioral, focusing on my background, experience, and general fit for the role. Round 2 went very well but was more challenging, with deeper and more difficult questions that tested my problem-solving and understanding of real-world scenarios. Only two candidates were selected for this round, and both of us were then moved forward to the final stage. Round 3 was the most difficult and technical round. Despite the high level of difficulty, the interview went well overall, and the conversation felt productive and engaging. Although I felt confident after the interviews and believed my performance was strong across all three rounds, I was ultimately not selected. I am still unsure about the specific reason for the decision, especially given that all rounds went well and the feedback during the process was positive. That said, the overall experience was professional, well-organized, and challenging in a good way. The interviewers were respectful, supportive, and clearly passionate about their work. It was a great learning experience and a strong reflection of Tesla’s high standards.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They focused heavily on real-world problem solving — especially how I would analyze a complex situation, structure my thinking, and make decisions with limited information. Across the interviews, they repeatedly asked me to walk through my thought process, explain the assumptions I was making, and justify my choices, rather than just arriving at a final answer. They were very interested in how I approach challenges, adapt under pressure, and communicate my reasoning clearly.
