I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Hartford (Hartford, CT) in Jan 2015
Interview
I applied online in December 2014 and heard back a few days later via phone. Had a brief phone interview right when I answered the phone and was asked to come onsite at the end of the phone call. I was brought onsite in January 2015 with the other candidates. The interview was a "round robin" style consisting of 4 or 5 20 minute interviews with actuarial students and 1 with the HR recruiter (head of the student program). After the interviews, we had lunch with other actuarial students which were different than the ones who interviewed us. After lunch was a group case study which we presented to the students and HR recruiters we had lunch with. Everyone was super nice.

I applied online. I interviewed at The Hartford (Hartford, CT)
Interview
I applied online and got a call a couple weeks later. They wanted me to fly to CT to in-person interview. The interview was a five hour multifaceted process with 5 other applicants. I interviewed for 30 minutes each with 4 people (it was sort of like "speed dating") I was then asked to analyze some graphs/charts and write a business email based on the information I gathered. Following this, we had a Q and A with some previous interns who took on a full time position later. Finally, we (the applicants) had to solve a case study in a group. We were monitored on how we solved it- I'm guessing to see how we handle teamwork settings. We then had to present our solution to 2 actuaries.
