I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Trader Joe's
Interview
Trader Joe's does not typically hire people who are only looking for a summer job. They want people that will come in and be there for a long while. They seek individuals with positive attitudes and have good people skills. If you are hirring in as a part-timer they may ask about your lifting abilities (how much you can lift, do you have a problem lifting items over 40 lbs). Do not worry if you cannot lift that much weight, it is not essential towards getting hired there. They really just want people who will be able to converse with customers and maintain the stores happy atmosphere.

Question 1
Have you ever got into an argument with a fellow worker, and if so, how do you handle it?
I had a call with the hiring manager about a sales associate position. After a few days, I got a follow up to come in for a basic interview that went over my previous sales associate experiences.

Question 1
What kind of previous sales associate experiences do I have?
The interview process was pretty standard for a retail environment. They asked the usual questions you would expect for this type of role and required the usual amount of experience.

Question 1
How will you improve the customer experience at Trader Joes
Was awesome - very friendly and down to earth, seems like a great place to work. Hope I get the job. Some easy questions, about work experience and the like, but also some curveballs. They asked me to give a lot of scenarios where I encountered certain difficulties and $18 an hour is not bad.
