The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Trader Joe's in Jan 2014
Interview
I turned in my application to the mate right before the start of the new year he quizzed me on my favorite TJ's products and why I wanted to work there. He was super friendly and told me I should hear from them within two weeks and gave me a card with a number to call if I had any questions. One week later they called and set up the first interview it went really well, it was with the same mate I turned in my application to he really made me feel at ease. He mainly just asked me about my previous work history, He scheduled a second interview with the captain two days later, interview was a lot like the first but the questions were more in depth, and the captain talked to me more about the job, and salary. He told me he would let me know if I got the job by Monday, and sure enough he called on Monday!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is something positive and something negative you've done in the last year
I had 3 separate interviews. 1 was over the phone. 2 were in person. I never heard anything after the third interview. I called the store about a week later and they let me know they didn’t actually have any available positions. Really felt like they wasted my time.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (West Hollywood, CA)
Interview
Casual, took place outside of the store. First I had a phone call interview. Then another which was in-person with 2 of the mates in the store, and finally a third in-person with the captain of the store.

Question 1
What was something I did for a friend that was above and beyond?
Different questions than I have experienced in past job interviews, but seem to be their traditional hiring questions. They want to make sure they are hiring sociable people more so than just someone that can do the job.
