I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Travelers (Hartford, CT) in Oct 2009
Interview
Interview process was long. Went back 2 times and interview was very basic and not very in depth. This was for an Account Manager position. I was told 4 openings but 110 applicants. Odds were not in my favor. The impression I got at both interviews was that they already had 4 people in mind as they did not ask many questions and focused on explaining the job vs getting to know me and what I could offer skill wise. When it was my turn to ask questions I could sense the 2 managers were not interested. Wandering eyes, did not take any notes, and a genuine disinterest in me. So I'm not sure why I was called back for a 2nd but I gave it my all thinking I could "sell" myself more but I kept getting cut off by one manager. To be honest after the manager told me about the salary range/non-exempt status it lost my interest anyway.
Initial contact was made by phone by HR. 2 weeks later HR called to set up an interview. Another week later went in for interview. Week and a half later got a call to come back in. 2 weeks passed after 2nd interview I followed up with the recruiter by voice mail. No response. At this time I knew I did not get the job but still wanted to follow up, so waited another week and left another VM. No response. I basically moved on but I did finally get a call back from HR explaining that there were originally 10 candidates then narrowed down to 6 "strong" final candidates which I was apart of but not chosen to be hired. Maybe its just a sign of the times but I felt this process was way too long and the non-responsiveness is something I've not experienced yet until now. I did secure a position with a different property casualty company (not as large) just recently with a much higher salary doing probably the same job. I say everything happens for a reason.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Honestly do not recall. There really were not many questions for me at all. Managers focused on talking about the position vs getting to know me.

The first interview provided a lot of valuable information about the position and company. During the second interview, I gained deeper insights into the organization and appreciated the opportunity to meet the division manager.

Interview
I got an interview setup with a recruiter who broke up a 40 minute call into 2 sections. 1st half was for going over the role and actually asking YOU what do you know about travelers and why are you interested in the position? She also went over my resume with me and asked for highlights/summaries of what I did and why I left. The second half of the role was the infamous behavioral interview. which was okay, I'll put the questions down below
