I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at UPS (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jan 2011
Interview
Easy 15 minute interview with Gateway (Airport) manager. UPS will hire ANYBODY when they need it. They panic hire and will take anyone to fill their gaps. They see it as being full staffed quicker. (Quantity vs. Quality) It feels as though the interview process is just doing due diligence. Before PT supervisor I was a package handler and when you apply they schedule a group tour...then EVERYONE on the tour gets an interview and if they want the job, its theirs.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basic questions: "Why UPS?" "Past experience?" etc.
Easy … just show up and give them everything THEY want to hear . Talk about ups like you live and breathe it and also about how you want to make the company better
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at UPS (Lakeland, FL) in Jun 2024
Interview
Very Unprofessional
As soon as I got to the interview area, two managers got up and left. I had never felt so discriminated and ignored by the manager and the interviewer, which at the most had around twenty years old. If you have more than fifty years old, do not apply because they will not even look at you. Very frustrating experience.
If you prove your worth then you'll be asked to be a part-time supervisor. It was simple. I was asked if I wanted to be a supervisor, and they told me how much the pay increase was, and I said, "Yes."
