      Flight Attendant Interview

      Feb 15, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Feb 2013

      Interview

I arrived to the interview a little over 30 minutes early. More than half of the people were already there, don't let that intimidate you... there is absolutely no reason to be that early. Mingle with the people who are next to you, because when I came to the last stage of the offer, one of the recruiters said she noticed me from the beginning. You never know who is watching Be nice and smile when you hand your resume and get your badge, because one of those people can be the one interviewing you. I was interviewed by the person who handed my name badge to me. They show a short presentation on United, I took in what the presentation said, and actually used some of the points to answer my interview questions, so pay attention, don't be nervous. Then they start calling people out one by one, and while other people are being interviewed one of the recruiters was answering questions. The first interview was really fun and relaxing for me, I was talking to the recruiter like a friend. He asked easy questions like, "Why do you want to be a FA?", "Tell me of a time you had a conflict with a coworker, what did you do?". If you prepare for basic HR questions, it will be fine. Then he handed me a paper with a time and told me to be discrete and take a shuttle to the hotel to eat. Came back for the second interview the 100 people were now down to about 15. Again we were called in one by one but this time by a different person. I was fully expecting the second interview to be difficult from what I read. But I found it pretty simple. I began speaking to the person like a friend, and we got off topic during part of the interview, and that's when I knew I was going to make it to the second round. Remember be friendly, smile, don't get nervous. She then told me she wanted me to meet with management and took me to a room. Now there were about 6 of us left. This time people who may not have been nervous, started getting nervous, and I think that was what hurt them. I was still fine, cracking jokes the whole time. I had a hard time understanding why people were stressing out so much. I got called in a room of two people for the third interview, and they were super friendly again. They asked about how I felt about relocating, reserve, living with roommates, and spoke about the tattoo policy. Then invited me to training. I was taken to another room where they got a copy of my passport, and gave me information on what steps to take before training. All in all it was a great experience, everyone was really friendly. 3 of us made it to the end, but don't let that stop you. The most important thing to remember if firstly dress for success, because like I said I was noticed from the beginning, and I caught the second recruiter looking my outfit over. Make sure you look like you already work there. I wore a classy black skirt suit, small pumps, my hair in a bun (make sure the bun is tight, because a messy bun looks like crap), stockings, and and button up shirt. Smile like your life depends on it. Be personable and friendly, crack some jokes while you're at it to lighten the mood. DON'T GET NERVOUS, everyone who was nervous ruined it for themselves. Be prepared, read as much as you can, watch some youtube videos. Breathe! Seriously, it's not American Idol, even though it may feel like it, I promise you don't have to sing. Know what you are getting into!

      Interview

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening. Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test. Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
