Interview
I applied to the placement/internship in October/November and heard back directly from the current intern in January to organise a phone interview for the end of the week. The phone interview lasted 15 mins or so and included the current intern and her line manager, who explained the responsibilities she has day to day and asked me; what my best skill is and my worst. They said they'd le me know if I got through to the next round by the next day, but it was a few days afterwards. They sent me an email stating I was to come in in a weeks time for an interview, presentation and excel test and the email included the brief for the presentation task. The interview and presentation went really well in my opinion but the excel test was very difficult as I only had 20 minutes to answer a lot of questions based on data that I also had to calculate, it was very maths based. They said I would hear back on my progress in a week but it has been over a month and I have heard nothing, so I guess I didn't get the role?? I thought it was a bit rude to not give me a straight answer on my success.

Interview
I received an email 3 months after sending my CV and Cover Letter confirming my success unto the next stage of the application process. The next stage was a phone interview with the head of the department I was applying for. The interview was approximately 20 minutes altogether. After this interview I got another about a week later confirming my selection for the assessment day. Also the email said I had to prepare a presentation based on the brief sent over. The assessment day consisted of a presentation from the current interns, a group task as an icebreaker, and then a fair amount of waiting around until your turn to present. Waiting for your turn also gave the opportunity to ask the current interns more about the placement role and any tips they may have. the interview consisted of two parts, the presentation in which I prepared a power point, and then a more formal interview with the head of department and the reporting manager. After this, we were given lunch tokens to stay and have lunch in the canteen if we so wished.
