      Teller Interview

      Sep 22, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Plano, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Plano, TX) in Oct 2011

      Interview

1st round: Simple phone interview that asked basic questions mostly about your resume, work experience, why Wells Fargo, etc.. it took about 5 minutes. At the end, the interviewer gave me the date, time, address for the group interviews. 2nd round: Group interview that consisted of approximately 20+ people. This is their weed out time, so dress to impress professionally, prepare speaking comfortably in front of large groups, and have an exciting and engaging personality (sales sales sales skills). Right after introducing herself and a little more, the main interviewer made it extremely clear that pay was non negotiable. We each stood up and introduced ourselves and said something to describe ourselves. We watched videos and each talked about a situation where we made a customer happy, had a proud moment (they want to hear sales goals met) and what we did about it... Basic 10 interview questions were touched on. I thought I didn't shine like some other potential candidates, but I was sure I was more capable than 90% of the candidates. Left the interview offices about 2-3 hours later. Got a phone call a few days later saying that I did well in the group interview and that I now could get a branch interview. 3rd Round: Interviewed with a branch that was hiring closest to my home (15 minutes away, just depends on timing and when a teller spot is vacant) I came in on a casual Friday so the manager that was interviewing me wasn't very intimidating and I felt very comfortable. The manager asked me the basic interview questions (search it) such as.. tell me a time when someone in your group underperformed... tell me a time when you met a goal.. tell me a time when etc.. Left the branch feeling good and received an offer a week later. Background check, fingerprinting...

      Interview

Smooth interview just be genuine and transparent on goals and what values you can add to the company. Wells Fargo is big on customer service so they’ll ask you plenty of scenario style questions, relating to the customer experience and how you will act.

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Daly City, CA)

      Interview

A 30min interview lasted only half the time with interviewer sounding robotic reading from script. Lack of compassion and human side to it. Interviewer had attitude as if unhappy with the job.
