Description Protenus was founded in 2014 by CEO Nick Culbertson and Co-Founder Robert Lord. As medical students at Johns Hopkins, Nick and Robert identified the challenge around access to patient information and set out to build a solution. We earned our first round of funding in 2014 and landed our first customer in 2015. Since then, we've closed four rounds of funding, our last being Series D in the spring of 2021.
Since those days seven years ago we have grown the team, now 100, grown our number of clients, now over 100 and grown our products, now two.
Our Privacy and Diversion products are market leaders, solving significant problems for hospitals nationwide. The Protenus Healthcare Compliance Analytics platform is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that ingests robust, unique data feeds to provide visibility into potential patterns of suspicious behavior that may otherwise go unnoticed. Our AI and advanced analytics empowers subject matter experts to mitigate and ultimately reduce organizational risk — whether it's an employee improperly accessing patient records, or a clinician diverting medications — in an efficient, accurate and scalable manner.
