What started as a single company founded in 1928 by Fred H. Sasser, Chicago West Refrigerator Despatch, has since grown to include a total of five subsidiaries that serve customers across the globe: Chicago Freight Car, Union Leasing, CF Rail Services, Express 4X4 Truck Rental, and Falcon Lease. Our subsidiary units are leaders in providing commercial- and industrial-focused rail, shipping, and vehicle transportation equipment solutions including asset leasing, fleet administration management as well as asset repair and maintenance.

Our parent company, Coril Holdings Ltd., has a long history in the rail industry. In 1898, Coril was launched and began constructing railway grade on the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Coril diversified into railway track maintenance in 1936, and in 1955, Loram's first piece of equipment was introduced.

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) owns short line and regional freight railroads in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and Belgium. Our subsidiaries provide rail service at 37 ports in North America, Australia and Europe and perform contract coal loading and railcar switching for industrial customers. In addition, G&W Australia operates the Tarcoola to Darwin rail line which links the Port of Darwin with the interstate rail network in South Australia. Operations currently include 112 railroads organized in 11 regions, with more than 15,000 miles of owned and leased track.
