    I have been working at 3Sharp full-time

    Pros

Lots of really smart people work here, leadership is committed to being as transparent as possible, work/life balance is something everyone is committed to (with some exceptions here and there due to client requirements).

    Cons

The company has some big goals in mind, so proper scaling will be critical. At times, the company may have been a little too conservative in bringing new people onboard, but it's something leadership is aware of and working on.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    I have been working at 3Sharp full-time

    Pros

The work is interesting, but the culture is what makes 3Sharp a great company to work for. Team events, company events, work/life balance...everyone enjoys spending time together. The leadership team actively participates in the culture, constantly taking suggestions and feedback from the employees.

    Cons

At the moment, we are experiencing growing pains, shifting from a tiny company to small/medium sized company. As I mentioned though, the leadership team does a great job in keeping tabs on morale.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on keepin' on.

I have been working at 3Sharp full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really satisfying work, top notch benefits, well-managed projects, and smart down-to-earth people - all in a balanced and upbeat environment. I've been around, and 3sharp's transparency, profit sharing, willingness to invest in the future, and support its people is refreshing.

    Cons

Only very small growing pains like tight parking, and in-development training programs because of new business, systems and people.

    Advice to Management

Doing the right thing - so be ready for the growth to come!

I have been working at 3Sharp part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Culture: Professional, congenial, friendly, and informal, with a high value for mutual support and encouragement. Company leaders truly care about the employees. They go the extra mile to connect, soliciting feedback on a weekly basis on topics such as how empowered and valued they feel, the effectiveness of the onboarding process, whether the company is moving in the right direction, how well leadership is communicating, and more.

Diversity: Workforce is diverse and accepting, and there is zero tolerance for any form of discrimination, intimidation, bias (intended or inadvertent), or harassment. Happily, I’ve never seen or heard of even one such incident in the years I’ve worked here.

Management Style: Transparent and open. Managers are chosen to be good leaders and listeners, as well as mentors to new and less experienced employees. New employees are onboarded through a process of mentoring and job-shadowing, gradually taking on increasing responsibility for projects. There are frequent meetings with their manager to make sure they come up to speed as smoothly and quickly as possible. All employees meet with their managers at least once a week to address any issues or questions that may arise during their work.

Recognition: There are a number of ways 3Sharp shows appreciation for a job well done. Anyone can send “cheers” to anyone else at any time via the Reflektive app for specific contributions, willingness to extend extra effort to meet a deadline, or to help others. These are celebrated with employees at the monthly company meeting. There are frequent informal on-site and off-site meetings, happy hours, and other events designed to build a sense of teamwork and to show appreciation for hard work and outstanding performance.

Team Focus: While individual performance is tracked and recognized, team performance is the main focus at 3Sharp. The company publicizes and celebrates when a team meets a tough deadline or receives recognition for a job well done from our clients. To increase the sense of “we win together”, the company recently switched from a bonus program to profit-sharing, with open and transparent communication of how the program works and how it is tracking vs. goal at company meetings. Every employee can engage with a spreadsheet that will predict the level of profit sharing he or she might receive at different levels of 3Sharp's financial performance. Profits are shared every quarter (instead of once a year) so that employees can realize more immediate rewards for successful work.

    Cons

High Expectations: This may not really be a negative, but just a heads up. We hire excellent people and with that excellence comes high expectations. Once onboarded and fully engaged in projects, 3Sharp expects employees to work hard and consistently contribute to the team. While there is a lot of support and help available, people who are self-motivated, curious, and willing to constantly learn new technologies will really thrive at 3Sharp. They will be recognized and rewarded accordingly.

Inconsistent Workload: Our clients have major events, product introductions, end of fiscal year or quarter, and the like which can mean a varying workload throughout the year. When this happens, it can get a bit chaotic. Company leaders staff up and plan work with this kind of variability in mind. However, there are times when the workload is more challenging and heavier than may be comfortable for those accustomed to a consistent 40-hour workweek. While working overtime and on weekends is not encouraged (actually, it’s discouraged), it is sometimes necessary. On the positive side, the company is pretty liberal with off time for those who have “burned hot” for a while and need a short break.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, we're all in it together!

    I have been working at 3Sharp full-time

    Pros

Company culture is a key benefit. Personable, respectful, and management is really focused on an open, inclusive, and great culture. Company progress against plans is reviewed every week with the entire company including financials. Profit sharing plan is generous and transparent. Stays on leading edge of tech. Very focused on work life balance as well, and that is not just something they say during the interview. Growing rapidly and it's clear why.

    Cons

Parking is a problem. Onboarding for employees needs a bit more structure.

I have been working at 3Sharp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Complete transparency on all of the company operations, weekly breakdowns in an all hands that goes over the company goals, financial breakdowns, projects etc. its pretty remarkable. Additionally the company culture is pretty amazing. Its a comfortable work space and has comfortable workspaces to get that content done in. Sr. leadership is always looking for input on all things, Open Door is an understatement. Also there are some great snacks, and a ping-pong table.

    Cons

Currently the company is going through a bit of a growth phase, so there is a bit of bumpiness that goes along with that, but over all its not a big deal, in this case growth is good, as company metrics are showing a lot of high utilization of the company resources. Cross Collaboration between teams is not as common as it should be, but they are working on that.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what your doing. and we'll keep killin' it.

I have been working at 3Sharp full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

3Sharp has a very transparent culture, that includes leadership who are accessible and personable. It is very apparent how the company is devoted to creating a wonderful product for its' customers, as well as being a fun place to work (think free food, lots of laughs, and plenty of teambuilding events.) It's an exciting time to be at this company, especially for those who are willing to take initiative and want to learn.

    Cons

3Sharp is a growing company, and needs to continue to focus on scaling their procedures and processes to ensure onboarding is smooth, and they need to continue developing employee feedback mechanisms.

    Advice to Management

It would be great for management to have training in leadership, communication styles, and ways to give feedback as the company grows. Clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and expectations will help employees to focus their efforts.
