I have been working at Adlib Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working for a ground breaking technology company that's on the cusp of radically improving the core principles of content analysis and classification to simplify information transfer.

    Cons

Not a place for people that aren't self motivated or for those expecting rigid directions. The people who excel and advance are those that can take the ball and run with it. They have to have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and understand the business challenges associated with maximizing the value of unstructured information.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on solving the issues of the wider community but mind the tempo and pace

    Pros

In a strategic market, strong customer base across three verticals. Strategy is aligned with high growth opportunities. Talented people existing and new

    Cons

Fast moving, and evolving business, but opportunity outlook is positive

    Advice to Management

Continue to seek out engagement and collaboration early and often, and good things will happen

    Pros

The leaking roof provides an almost outdoorsy feel throughout the office. Why shower at home when we have two in the office.

Wander in and out as you please

    Cons

Sales staff only work part time and cone and go wherever they want, even though the company is clearly in desperate need of any cash they can get.

    Advice to Management

Patch the roof and correct the problems in sales.

I worked at Adlib Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Work from home.
Strong supporter and participant in the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
    Base compensation alright.
Vending machines took debit cards. Free soda.

    Cons

A revolving door of sales leadership where none of them could lead. Or sell.
Shifting GTM strategy that ultimately was no strategy at all.
An overly sunny view of becoming a 10 figure company with no path to success.
Never even close to hitting OTE.

    Advice to Management

Pack up your tent. Ride your bike, race your car, just give everyone who works hard who has lots to lose plenty of time.

I have been working at Adlib Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The occasional offsite meeting that isn't work related.
Pot lucks and free food like activities, that bring segregated departments together.
    Decent enough benefits
Flexible work hours, although most take advantage and nobody cares

    Cons

Depending on the team you will feel like you are under constant surveillance, most likely due to another cull that's in the works.
New software is a constant uphill battle, with customer(s) who struggle to make things work, and demand updates in a short time frame.
Legacy product has not been updated in years, and competition has caught up leaving the sales team in an extremely difficult position.
HR seems to be running the otherwise headless company.
Constant discussions among employees about leaving makes it hard to focus on the challenges at hand.
Departments seem to drift apart rather than coming together.
Upper management seems helpless, and in need of proper training or experience.

    Advice to Management

Try to float the company for another year until most can find new jobs

    Pros

Great opportunity. We are going through a transition from a features functions software company to a true business solution. Lots of new people that bring expertise to the table.

    Cons

Transition is bumpy with lots of challenges

    Advice to Management

    Keep pushing

I have been working at Adlib Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People on the team can be great to hang out with
Employees generally share the same sentiment about the organisation

Company isn't afraid to invest in marketing and sales efforts even at the detriment of every major project

    Cons

Management has no clear vision of what they are trying to do as a result there is confusion on the type of company they want to be from week to week

Attrition is significant with more employees leaving rather than coming in

Executive group employs consultants to advise them on listening to their employees messages but these are largely ignored

Company would rather spend time on ensuring strong internal processes are in place over rallying behind a purpose, product, vision, or coherent strategy

Largely disconnected from the market and the product has not been updated with any kind of significance for years

Members of the team are more concerned with surviving to the next week than they are with delivering anything meaningful

Employees operate and live in fear that speaking out will result in dismissal

Investments are made in branding and marketing, while no real investment is made on technology or product development

Bonuses are a talking point for recruiting and have never really materialised

Operate with a laissez faire attitude to the well being of their employees as though team members should be thankful for simply being granted the gift of employment

Respect is a quality reserved for the executive leadership but cannot be extended to any other members

    Advice to Management

Just stop and end the misery for everyone involved. Advice to candidates - buyer beware

    Pros

None that I can think of. Do your research and ask your network about the company including culture and leadership.

    Cons

I would pay very close attention to the other reviewers on this website. The negative reviews describe the reality of the organizations culture.

    Advice to Management

Look for new management and go back to basics.

I have been working at Adlib Software full-time

    Pros

    - great people in team (as long as they don’t play office politics)
    - some managers are flexible with personal schedules (which might bite you back later)
    - awesome vacation like Google (always try to act like Google without even close to 0.1% of what Google has as revenue)
    - new hire enjoy ‘welcome package’ loaded with gifts (which funding from letting people go nonstop)

    Cons

    - so busy and awesome vacation becomes limited as long as you have taken the government legally allowed 10 days vacations
    - no respect for seniority regarding career advancement; as long as you can ‘sell’ yourself by words, you can advance to the top without having to proof ones performance
    - management heavy structure type of organization (lots of revenue going towards directors and VPs and managers while other staffs work overtime to make unrealistic deadlines)
    - nonstop laid off of good staff and replaced with inexperienced contractors who watch YouTube all day long)
    - continuously layoff yet got a huge prayer room which only benefits a few individuals in the company
    - performance evaluation is completely unprofessional and useless to count as performance reviews (no substance in types of questions asked; even some managers expressed reluctance to do it with employees)
    - loads of disappointment from company’s loss of directions
    - bonus hasn’t existed for a few years and when it happens, you will get some if you’re lucky enough to have a fair manager, or else it gets sucked up by higher management
    - just not making enough money to support the amount of staff yet keep spending on things that do not benefit productivity
    - daily stress in hoping your head isn’t on the chopping block

    Advice to Management

    I don’t know anymore
