I worked at Americas Best Value Inn (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to work. Kenny and Shilpa are amazing people.

    Cons

Can get very busy during CMA Festival & Bonaroo, but ownership is very helpful.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Americas Best Value Inn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best thing about working there was the bonuses given for holidays and beating last year's sales.

    Cons

Way to much employee gossip and drama spread by employees and talked about with guest.

    Advice to Management

Stop encouraging employee gossip by not engaging in it and stop yelling at your employees in front of guest. A customer service course would be a good thing for America's best value inn management so they can realize who actually pays their checks to support their lifestyles. Also training employees on sexually harassment in the work place and having zero tolerance towards it.

I worked at Americas Best Value Inn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Perfect location near the lake, easy to get there and public transportation.

    Cons

Bed bugs, housekeepers don't changed sheets and cut corners in rooms. Housekeepers steal what you won't notice is gone and management is sneaky and will put you on the do not rent list if you look too flirt or like a prostitute

    Advice to Management

    Hire honest housekeeping.

    Pros

The only thing I liked about working at Americas Best was the people I worked with.

    Cons

Terrible pay, overworked, not appreciated, Owner tried to keep you from taking breaks, Owner treated workers like they were beneath her.

    Advice to Management

Your employees keep your business running, treat them well and they will treat you well. They are people just like you

    No holiday pay
    No overtime pay
His management protocols are very unsatisfactory

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Americas Best Value Inn full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Get to meet new people, if your going to school there is alot of free time to catch up on homework .

    Cons

Low pay, no advancement, no benifits, sometimes nothing to do. Everything else is ok best for someone barely getting into the working field.

    Advice to Management

I would say treat all employees the same, I see a lot of favorites that get treated better but the work they offer is horrible.

I worked at Americas Best Value Inn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small hotel, meaning that all employees got to know each other very well. A good "home away from home"

    Cons

No room for growth within the company. Working here is a resume builder to say there is hotel experience. Perfect for someone just entering the hotel industry.

I worked at Americas Best Value Inn part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Casual atmosphere is all I can think of that is positive

    Cons

Condescending, lying, lazy and gossipy older workers and mgmt lead to high turnover of new employees.Very low pay,no incentives, no respect, out of town owner refuses to invest for maintenance and renovation,NO ONE embraces very needed changes

    Advice to Management

Fire older workers and mgmt, take out the garbage and start fresh, quit being a slumlord, invest to renovate and embrace change, show respect, pay at least minimum wage!
