I have been working at Applied Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The current solution set, as well as the vision for what the independent agency vertical needs to thrive and grow is spot on here. That's been the case during the 5 years I've been here, and provides for tremendous opportunity as a sales consultant. It's rare these days to represent a company and its products with such a wide gap of effectiveness as compared with its competitors.

    Cons

Fast growth year over year sometimes presents challenges in navigating the internal resources needed to service customers in the very best way.

    Advice to Management

Continue what you're doing - continue to build and innovate, as opposed to haphazardly acquire and create a solution set that is not connected, as most competitors in the space do.

    Pros

Friendly environment, casual dress, ability to work from home

    Cons

Working in the basement with no windows and dark brown wall colors.

    Advice to Management

If you going to have us work in the basement, please change the wall colors to something less depressing. Create some kind of natural light

I worked at Applied Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learned new skills very quickly due to the large amount of work to do per single person. At some point reach the plateau in terms of learning new stuff. Overall good starting point for new grads but not for long term career.

    Cons

No place to grow in terms of career. No bonuses and no salary growth.

I have been working at Applied Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very laid-back atmosphere with friendly co-workers. No personal quotas or statistics that need to be met. Tons of opportunities to learn new skills (some of them highly transferable).

    Cons

Not enough structure or oversight when it comes to policing under-performing technicians or rewarding exceptional technicians. Fairly high turnover in this area with a somewhat "green" group doing most of the work. Very little assistance developing any kind of career plan or future outlook for technicians.

    Advice to Management

Find a better way to track performance and reward outstanding technicians. Develop a path or guideline to push technicians into other roles or responsibilities within the company. Make sure those teaching and training new technicians are actually high-performers themselves.

    Pros

    Cons

Too quiet in the developers' areas - people don't get to know each other well, because talking is discouraged. Feels too 'sterile'.

    Advice to Management

Remove managers who are not good with people.

    Pros

Leader in the Industry in support and development. Company invests a lot of resources to continue to develop improvements in the solution set and invest in supporting our partners. Applied puts their customers first in decision making decisions and as a sales person that is greatly appreciated.

    Cons

So much improvement in our solutions makes it a challenge to continue to stay an expert. It is also what is great about the job.

    Advice to Management

Continue the strategic thinking and being a leader in the adoption of agencies wanting to become a Digital Agency.
