Pros
Applied is a great company to work for! I've personally been given great opportunities because my hard work has been recognized. Management really does seek out rewarding good work, go-getters, and I appreciate that. I am surrounded by people who work hard and really value our customers, which is exactly the team I want to be on!
Cons
None - I think this is a great company with endless opportunities!

Pros
A few years ago, Applied realized it had a culture problem and decided to do something about it. It embarked on a fantastic journey to bring people together and make sure everyone felt safe and seen at Applied. The difference is astounding for employees who look back to where we started. Applied has always been great to it's employees, but the culture shift came at the right time.
Cons
I would like to to see some profit sharing options for long term employees, or even retirement benefits employees with 20+ years employment.

Stable, profitable company that's still growing
Dec 9, 2022 - People Team MemberRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Warm, accessible, smart executive team. After 35+ years, the company is continuing to grow and scaling appropriately. They value their people and do the right thing.
Cons
Compensation - though the problem has been identified and they are working on a solution. The problem is, it just may not be soon enough for those experiencing wage compression due to longer tenure.

Still Needs Improvement
Dec 3, 2022 - Implementation Project Manager in University Park, Optional[IL]RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Wonderful teams of co-workers who all seem to really care about the work they do and client satisfaction. It’s the people at Applied that have made it the successful tech company that it is. The flagship program is well designed and an industry favorite.
Cons
Low pay compared to competition Micromanaging timesheets Lack of opportunity for advancement Expensive health coverage No stipend for remote office Employee well-being and mental health support is only given lip service

Understaffed but help not coming
Jul 19, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Many quality-of-life things have been added such as a software phone for EVERYONE, desk booking for remote employees when traveling to a building, an actual choice for 'remote but local' employees to attend events nearby, Slack for interdepartmental communications, and huge advance notice for company wide meetings. This may sound pretty basic but believe it or not, none of these items were in place a year ago.
Cons
We were told about 2 years ago that there would be a massive hiring surge to help us all out. Only about 1 year ago we were given a bonus because that didn't actually happen, and they admitted openly they failed in that. My groups max experience is 7 months with only 1 new hire and 3 transfers. 1 of those transfers is quitting this week. In 8 months this group went from 1 manager and 3 employees to 0 managers and 3 NEW employees. There is no plan to hire more either. I am not clear on how a department who handles 120+ accounts can run on just 3 people. If you do the math that's 40ish accounts per person. If just one more person leaves, that's 60 accounts per person. Math is fun. You'll notice my rating is still 4. In general, the work is still ok. If you are booked up, you just can't overlap meetings and do 2 at once; it's impossible. Customers will just have to wait.

Great place to plant your flag and build a career. Quotas are realistic and if they are overshot, management makes the right adjustment to keep things fair on the compensation side of things
Cons
You have to be willing to invest the proper amount of time in training to start bringing in commissions
