I have been working at Appriss full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Good pay. Smart coworkers. Management that looks out for you, and let's you get your work done. Forward-looking leadership, exploring new markets and products through innovation and acquisition. Good remote worker support. Good cultural climate

    Cons

Some of the existing software has some technical debt. Aggressive product development schedules don't allocate enough time for upgrading/rewriting older systems.

    Advice to Management

Tend to the older software while it is still manageable.

I worked at Appriss (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I liked the idea of not being micro managed by supervisors. As long as I met my quotas and had good reviews from callers, I was allowed to do what I was trained to do.

    Cons

The concept of not micro managing the reps was also a drawback. Some reps didn't do their share.

    Advice to Management

I have no further comments at this time.

I have been working at Appriss full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Salary
    Opportunity to work remotely
A product you can stand behind and believe in

    Cons

The division I work in has grown a lot in the past year. It seems like the new leadership doesnt care about us. They talk a good talk...but they aren't sincere. Current shift in culture doesn't offer a supportive environment. Leadership is inconsistent and senior leaders seem not to care about Frontline employees. New ideas don't seem to be welcome unless they come from the "right" people. I've seen people work hard and just get no kudos.

    Advice to Management

Stick to the performance based model that is advertised on the website. The environment has become political and leadership tends to promote and offer positions based on who you know not what you know. HR needs to address the lack of consistency in hiring and firing. You may want to show more loyalty to employees that have gone above and beyond for the company. The people that work here care about the company. They deserve to have leaders who care about them too.

    Pros

Good work life balance if you need to be home every so often or full time in some cases. Benefits are suitable for a company this size. Pay is within bounds of industry standard.

    Cons

Management are struggling to grasp what is happening around them. They shout orders from the mountain top with little to no support to employees when implement those orders.

As the chaos starts to outweigh the benefits, expect an exodus of important staff.

    Advice to Management

Connect more by getting your hands dirty every once in a while to better understand your product strengths and weaknesses more.

I worked at Appriss (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Remote working, decent benefits, good people but management is a little unsettled. Always changing benefits package, reorganizing. Trying to become viable for public offering.

    Cons

Sold my division to LexisNexis while I was on vacation. No warning. Very hush-hush about pay. Some weird benefit plans that ended up biting me in the end.

    Pros

Appriss offers a lot of flexibility but it also is doing great "mission driven" work. Helping victims, catching bad guys, preventing drug abuse... these are great missions to be a part of.

    Cons

The company is growing fast and experiencing lots of change. Because of that you have to have a positive outlook on change. Sometimes hard to do.

    Advice to Management

Keep telling the great stories about the work.

    Pros

    Cons

Culture is lacking, no raises, pay. As an engineer you can make more money just about anywhere.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Very good company that cares about employees. Fun atmosphere. Very lenient on time off and fluctuating hours.

    Cons

Strategies are not always clear and they change constantly. They don't necessarily listen to input from the trenches.

I worked at Appriss (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting projects, flexible work schedule and location.

    Cons

This company is owned by private equity and your fate rests with them. Your business unit or the entire company is subject to abrupt change of ownership, and your new owners may have very different objectives or workplace policies.

    Advice to Management

I don't believe i'm qualified to provide advice to management. They are probably doing a decent job serving the company owners.
