Pros

Worked from home; met some great nurse case managers whom I still stay in contact with and call my friends. Great retirement benefits and vacation time. If you work in the home office things are much easier for you and you have a routine and more stable schedule.

Cons

Very high turn over rate on nurse case managers. The work hours (shifts) are very long even though you are assigned to take cases during a certain time frame this has no bearing on your actual hours of work. Due to follow up's and following clients to clinics you are not able to just finish work at a certain time. You have reports and so forth to finish which have to be finished that day which causes you to work late into the evening - and you do not get paid for this. You work a lot of overtime but do not get recognized or paid for it - your salary so technically you can work as much as they need you to. Unless you can actually bill for something - you will not get paid for any of your overtime or hard work late into the night. You also do not get any kudos or appreciation for this hard work - it is just expected from all case managers. Shift also change with not much notice. In a meeting it will be revealed your new hours will start on a certain date and you are expected to accommodate your family schedule around this which can be difficult. It was also very difficult to make family events in the evening or attend my children's sports and school activities. I missed so many functions and events with my family and children during my employment with Axiom due to my erratic schedule. Even when assured I should be able to get off work and attend certain school functions which did not start until 7:00/8:00 PM - it did not happen. It was difficult to take any vacation time off work due to the high turn over of nurses and need for nurses to be on shift at all times. The vacation and personal time off work was great - but it was very difficult to actually be able to use your earned time off work. This included attempting to make morning physician appointments even when your not taking calls until later in the afternoon. To attend a personal physician appointment I would have to take a vacation day and you had to take at least 1/2 day. The management is very family heavy which makes it difficult to address any problems in the company. It is hard to take problems to the President, CEO, HR or higher management when you have a complaint or problem with their cousin, brother, spouse, etc. It works against you and causes stress.

Pros

When I first hired on I could have listed amazing pros. I left because all of the benefits to working for this company were gone once the new upper management replaced the retired founding CEO.

Cons

Where to start.....Expect to have absolutely no life except for Axiom. No more baseball or soccer games with your children or planned dinners with family. They require the NCM's to be "available" for over 80+ hours per week but you only get paid your base salary of 40 hours plus what you bill after that 40 hours. Weekends are required and you have to be available for 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday (but that's after your 40 hours so you have to be available for that additional 24 hours on your scheduled weekends but you're not guaranteed to get any extra flex pay unless an injury/claim comes in during your intakes. You could be slammed or you could be slow. You're on your own). Sounds great until you get that call and get written up because you were not close enough to your computer to respond within seconds because you had not heard from them in 4 hours so you decided to go take a break. Any other place we call that On Call pay. At Axiom - it's expected and do not bother complaining. They treat nurses like we are a dime a dozen. Be prepared to have no life and be able to go days without a shower (sounds insane, but true).

Pros

Working from home was nice as a single mother

Cons

I was a permanent employee, never disciplined for performance, attendance, NOTHING! Then today I was dismissed. Mind you Axiom is actively hiring, new people added to our pod, yet the reason I was fired was that my role was eliminated. Axiom also terminated employees who were on COVID leave as well. I worked hard to become permanent. Didn't matter. I am just done. Axiom also offers huge bonuses, but then backs track and refuses to pay you for what was promised. I was fired because I refused to allow the company to not pay me the pay that was agreed upon.
