Pros

Your success depends on your role, race and gender at this company. This is obviously a pro for all straight white men

Cons

The company has an internal class system that is quickly recognized. Those of color are expendable and treated poorly. Women are placed in support roles, unfairly compensated, not offered opportunities, and/or spoken about as if they are less than. Advancement is given to white men, friends and family. This company is ran with an iron fist and many fear retaliation so they are quiet as others are mistreated. Leadership is interested in compensating themselves over their people. The payment “structure” in place is not unfavorable for contractors. Anyone who does business with BCC will have a difficult time getting paid what they are due.

Pros

Good culture, work/life balance is legit

Cons

corporate favors the Atlanta/Jax office. Promotions and positions even in different office locations given to those from the Atlanta/Jax office, rather than those in the regional office.

Worse by the years

Pros

Get to work with some good people who really care for construction and doing what's right

Cons

Paid outside company to tell them how to reward their employees with bonuses and company went three years without a bonus, high turnover of good people and still continuing trend as now just hiring warm bodies in positions and lost their way as a real GC. Promotes good ole boys over others who were more qualified for promotions as favorites are definitely played. Put on a lot of horse and pony shows to make employees feel they care about them and even care about Diversity Inclusion after all of 2020 events to say they "did something". Long hours, terrible staffing of projects, and behind the curve of good GCs. Senior leadership only cares about themselves and will be cut throat if need someone to fall on the sword.
