    Pros

    Great associates that work here. Hard working people.

    Cons

    Upper management is terrible. Never want to know store challenges or customers complaints regarding the operations of the stores. Never care to ask how things at store could be improved for both customers and associates. Sad!

    Advice to Management

    listen to your store management team's feedback regarding all aspects of the business...customer complaints regarding lack of checkout areas ..payroll-no associates on the floor.

    Pros

    I had a great counter manager as a leader. Felt I was able to learn a lot and grow my knowledge about sales. Free gratis every quarter and free full size product when a new item came out!
    HR was accommodating when I needed time off for a family emergency.
    Family culture type feel which is unusual for retail.

    Cons

    It's retail/retail hours, it is not glamorous at times but the skills you learn will help you in the future years ahead.

    Advice to Management

    I really enjoyed my time at Boston Store. Keep it up!

    Discounts are nice but not worth it when you dread going to work

    Cons

    WORST COMPANY EVER !! Didn’t give information when stuff was going on. Make changes every other day on schedule and don’t inform you about the changes. By far the worst company I’ve ever worked for

    Fix your cosmetics manager- the company is not a safe work environment to be at

    - Associate discount
    - Flexible hours
    - Free products working in cosmetics
    - Fun atmosphere with many great employees
    - Vacation benefits even for part-timers

    Cons

    - They don’t care about their associates; you are really only a number and are treated with no respect by corporate
    - Horrible pay
    - Management won’t do anything to get rid of toxic employees that are sabotaging the business
    - They hire many bad managers that have no idea how to effectively manage people
    - Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are only interested in numbers, are always stressed and overworked, unprofessional, talk badly about certain associates with other associates
    - Unrealistic sales and credit card goals for small stores in rural area
    - Raises are ridiculous: expect between 5 and 15 cents
    - Lack of Training
    - outdated technology inside the store
    - opening at 11am on Thanksgiving? Again, the company has lost its human touch
    - too many sales promotions; corporate doesn’t understand that having a special sale every day of the week doesn’t incentivize people to come in a certain day
    - managers don’t care if star employees leave because their motto is that everyone’s replaceable (was mentioned directly to employees in a meeting)

    Advice to Management

    If you don’t finally realize that great, hardworking employees are the key to success and treat them that way, you’ll lose out rather soon.
