I worked at Burroughs full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Was a GR8 company to work for until...

    Cons

Tried to grow to fast, lost the perspective of what a good company was. Somewhere they lost the concept of a true work ethic, a job is a job, but a career is something a person has when devoted to the company that provides and cares for them.

    Advice to Management

Put MORE congeniality towards the technicians and less rapaciousness.

I worked at Burroughs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get company car and they don’t really check up on you as long as you do your job.

    Cons

No raises...ever!!! Company keeps getting new contracts and expects technicians to do everything but won’t give incentives to try your best. Ridiculous on call for some contracts.

    Advice to Management

We are obviously making more money with new contracts coming in. Share the profits with the people that’s actually doing the work!!!

I worked at Burroughs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay. Great benefits too, but expect to kiss half your paycheck goodbye paying for them.

    Cons

Good grief...where do I start? Company does NOT give raises, yet stays on top of year end reviews. You'll get that review every year, but that is ALL you will get. Doesn't matter how well you perform, so don't go above and beyond in ANY area. The more heart and soul you put into your job, the more they'll expect from you. You'll be buried with work and just as you get most of the pile done and come up for air, they'll suffocate you with even more. When they see that you're good under pressure, they'll continue to give you more responsibility. Just do the bare minimum that is required while on the clock. After all, that is EXACTLY how you'll be paid. The "give credit when credit is due" ethic doesn't exist here. The more the effort, the more you'll be punished. Expect to worry about your job on a daily basis. Layoffs are a favorite with this company. Many were laid off, asked to return and laid off a 2nd , even a 3rd time. They like to lay off employees and ask them to return as temps. They manage to get these good people that will do anything to stay employed to feed their families, yet treat them like recyclable trash, Loyalty, honesty and hard work means NOTHING to this company. Just remember, you are only a NUMBER. When the going gets tough and the hard core cold, impersonal equity firm doesn't like the numbers they see, management "trims the fat" by putting loyal, hard working employees out of a job. Layoffs go on year round, so watch your back. Don't be shocked and/or heartbroken when you put your heart into your job, become a great asset, yet are laid off without just or warning. Happens all the time at Burroughs. Remember, doesn't matter. You're only a number.

    Advice to Management

    Seek Jesus. Immediately.

I worked at Burroughs full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Field Service Managers were all a pleasure to work with. Most all employees are polite.

    Cons

Numerous. No support for Field service managers from upper management. Raises are promised for years and never given to technicians. On call 24 hours for Revolution contract. Never sufficient communication all around. Too busy putting out daily fires to actually run business.
    Company is falling apart fast.

    Advice to Management

Replace all levels of upper management. Start fresh.

    I worked at Burroughs full-time

    Pros

Great pay, good flexibility and upper management is often easily approachable.

    Cons

    No organizational structure.

    Advice to Management

Start with the basics, get that right first, then try to fix bigger issues.

I have been working at Burroughs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Paycheck didn't bounce.
You have a company vehicle and a phone.

    Cons

On call 4-7 days a week every week. I was working three weekends out of every month
Constant harassment from parts people about things they lost.
    Really terrible systems in place
    No raises
    No bonuses
    no promotions

I have been working at burroughs for over a year. It started out great and then my schedule was changed literally weekly( sometimes during the week). It always was changed so that I got stuck working the weekend or I was on call.
There is no work/life balance here as management could care less about you, you are nothing more than a number on a spreadsheet.

Forget about getting a raise, they don't exist at this place. My manager told us if we stick around for another year we might get a 1% raise next year.

Do yourself a favor if you plan on working here, Use this place for experience and get out asap as this company has no future at all.

    Advice to Management

None really, you already killed this company. It's not fixable. Goog luck going forward.

    Pros

Great job, plenty of overtime, flexible schedule.

    Cons

24/7 on call, pay not yet comparable to competition

    Advice to Management

Hire people that want to work and avoid unmotivated burnouts from other companies.
