Pros

Originally a nice place to work, with a decent work life balance and a caring environment. CACIB remains well regarded in the market for certain products and sectors.

Cons

HR has gone completely rogue, implementing a return to work policy as early as June 2020, which completely disregards employees' real circumstances. This has led to 150+ departures in less than 2 years (out of 700 staff), with many senior, talented employees (particularly women) leaving the bank. In terms of compensation, there is limited opportunity for upside and not enough differentiation for strong performers. The deferral plan is also very detrimental for high earners.

Extremely mediocre management

Pros

Good US/Americas product franchise on project finance, securitization, and some niche capital market products

Cons

Management is prob the worst I've seen in my career; nobody cares about your growth and career progression; mostly french who only come to serve their career plans in France or Americans acting as if they were working at a top wall st firm. This place relies on an army of junior level hoping to make it in finance and ready to stay long hours. Business is also mostly optimistic, no serious corporate strategy

Pros

Good work life balance with absolutely no need to work overtime

Cons

The management does not care about employee welfare. There is absolutely no negotiations for salary increments which are close to nothing and also no talks nor opportunities for progression. Even the salary offered is below industry average. Due to these, employee turnover is high. To mitigate this and to continue having low costs the management keeps salaries low but makes it harder for employees to leave by enforcing long notice periods up to 3 months
