I worked at CALNET full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a great place to work; senior management truly cares about the employees.

    Cons

Government contracting can be unpredictable and sometimes frustrating.

    Advice to Management

    Great job!

I worked at CALNET full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Paycheck. Evidently I negotiated at the high end of this and ended up getting a pretty decent rate. Some co-workers were genuinely pleasant to be around.

    Cons

Management, and the company in general, has become a laughing point in interior FAA circles. Program Managers readily, and consistently, referred to CalNet as the business model NOT to follow when wanting to continue contract awards. Trying to subtly relay this to management was met with deer-in-headlight response. Blinders, man, blinders...
Several high profile FAA programs and their FAA personnel had relationships with me that just absolutely were doing everything in their power to get released from having to deal with that management. Was a unique situation to be loved and hated at the same time.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to remote site management. Be a little more investigative of what is actually transpiring. You are losing your credibility quickly and, while I no longer have a dog in this fight, shouldn't go down like this.

    I worked at CALNET full-time

    Pros

If I had to pick one, it would be that some of the employees are friendly

    Cons

Owner has no concept of business development and will grind the company to the gound

    Advice to Management

It is no longer Bob Cratchet age, trust employees to do the work. With trust will come performance.

    Advice to Management

Keep the open door policy that you have to listen to your employees. Great to see Senior Management really caring for its employees

I have been working at CALNET full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Having the small company feeling it means that you are helped immediately and do not have to go through all of the red tape. It's very beneficial.

    Cons

I wish the company had more contracts in order to work more and branch out to other avenues.

    Advice to Management

    none

    I worked at CALNET full-time

    Pros

Management is so bad that it actually works for the employee

    Cons

President of Calnet does not care about his employees. This guy is the definition of "it's all about Calnet's money."

    Advice to Management

Run! Unless you are Kaleem, the owner, go get another job. Run from this company. If you are a company thinking of buying Calnet - don't. Run away quickly.

I worked at CALNET full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    I no longer work there.

    Cons

Upper Management has no experience, or knowledge in the fields they attempt to work in. They lack leadership, and communication skills. Multiple lawsuits filed for unfair business practices, and labor law violations.
Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians.
Too many hats to be worn by everyone. Management lies to employees to justify poor salary compensation.

    Advice to Management

Let people do what you hire them to do.

I worked at CALNET full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working at the FAA; supporting users worldwide; mastering many different applications; being part of the aviation industry; the non-management people you work with.

    Cons

Management is mess. The shouldn't be allowed to play in the sandbox with the other adults. Too focused on screwing people to get what they want and not focused on being a great company with great people.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Replace yourselves. Stop being children.
