Pros

- Work Culture: You meet people who you share work experience with and you bond over it. Every now then you can attend after work events with colleagues - Network: If you play your cards right, you can meet new people and potential move into a new role - Office Space: Work stations are modern and there’s free tea/coffee in the kitchen

Cons

- Career Pathway: The pathway that the executive manager lays out does not apply for everyone. There are favourites within the company that are picked and chosen. - Poor Leadership/Support: No interactions with senior managers and when they see fun on the working floor, they will minimise it and force you to slave for them. Always understaffed and leaders expect you to take phone calls constantly with no room of breathe. Poor Leadership from the executive manager as well. - Contribution to Non for profit events: Don’t expect time off to be able to participate in any activities and have fun - Sick Leave: Medical certificate is required on each day you are sick - Entry level role: There are much better entry level roles than here - Hours: Hours are terrible with rotating roster of earliest being 8 and later being 9:20 to finish at 6

Pros

Senior EAs hold the knowledge in CommSec Customer Service dept. Friendly people hired in EA roles. EA role is good for people seeking their first job in Australia. Diverse cultural backgrounds.

Cons

Very low pay for Banking / Finance industry. Most EAs in CommSec CustService leave within 12-18months. Seniors overworked / train all EAs on cycles / underpaid for the work they do - sit below Team Leaders who have no product knowledge - Seniors promised TL roles / will not eventuate (TLs use Seniors to do their work). * Team Leaders (TL) use old 'Carrots and Sticks motivation technique'. CARROTS: personal goals used to manipulate EAs for as long as possible. STICKS: KPIs constantly used as Job Security Threats. * Work from Home being phased out in CommSec CS dept - EAs told they will WFH / still in office full time after 9months. * Limited Career Growth - harped to new EAs / told months later to wait 12-18months before TL will 'Release' EA to other role in CommSec or CBA ** Constant rotation of EA group hires - Constant flow of EAs resigning ** FAILED Management team and tactics / always been this way apparently / Depressing and Stressful environment for EAs. *Team Leader (L) = Zero knowledge (running office joke) + disturbingly loud in office + Failed basic knowledge exam + "That's a good question" refers all to Seniors + forever "looking into it" + on internet most days / browsing photos / no work - given buddy TL role / Seniors not happy. *Manager of TLs (M) = Openly tells EAs "Don't ask me any questions, I'm not technical. I manage people" - no Financial Services experience or knowledge, came from Insurance. *Head of CommSec Customer Service dept - no Financial Markets experience, came from Insurance.

Pros

- Great induction and training materials - Excellent role for those new to the industry with no experience - If you're lucky and put into the right team, some outstanding team leaders will give you the opportunity and recognition for your work.

Cons

- This job peaks at 3 months and after the honeymoon phase, it's over you get over worked on other/service/trade with 50+ calls per day and micromanaged for your KPI. - You cannot take a moment to breathe or for a bathroom break without a hit to your KPIs. - The quality of hires is really questionable, it seems they really let everyone in the door. - When you become tenured in this role, you will constantly clean up for the questionable hires. - This job can also be very draining on your mental health and well-being but if you can put up with it for 12 months you can move external or internal.
