Pros

excellent individual contributors and team leaders

Cons

leadership has a high handed and disdainful attitude toward rank and file employees, culminating in the decision to force employees back in office 2 days a week without any discussion of safety concerns after working from home has produced exceptional results. This is a company that more than a half dozen times, starting in late 2020, thought it was a good time to reopen offices. Their solution this time is to simply refuse to acknowledge safety concerns, cancel large meetings and hide. It's clear they failed to learn from their disastrous attempt to save money by culling lazy, greedy do nothing IT workers and outsourcing many services, a disastrous failure that's taken them the better part of a decade to fix. They're unconcerned about loss of life, moral and quality employees who are receiving offers of higher pay without unnecessary risk of death for poorly defined, unquantifiable goals. They claim to be committed to fighting climate change but apparently see no connection between climate change and forcing hundreds of people to commute every day.

Thank you for sharing these concerns with us. A return to the office for employees was always in our communicated direction, but we understand that it means a change for many employees. Protecting the safety of our colleagues and ensuring that our teams feel valued remains our top priority. To do so, we maintain health and safety protocols at each of our offices and continue to consult healthcare professionals as employees return to having in-office / in-person moments. Our hybrid model is designed to be flexible as an opportunity for employees across different teams to collaborate and strengthen connections. We know it is not a “one size fits all” approach, so we’ve left it to the discretion of our teams to create a schedule that makes sense for them. If you have concerns about the hybrid approach, we’re here to help and we recommend that you reach out to your manager or Human Resources at hrsharedservices@definity.com.

Salary is far below market

Pros

Great flexible benefits through Sunlife, personal days as well as sick days available. Some years there has been a bonus, but again not substantial. Managers are easy to talk to, even higher up the food chain.

Cons

Salary is far below market. Think 10 - 15,000 below what glass door estimate. Actually probably worse than that. Extremely corporate.
