      Pretty Good Overall

      Pros

Company car, all equipment, gas and everything is paid for and provided. Haven't found another kind of job like this that is entry-level. There's alot of overtime as well so you make a decent amount just by driving around. good experience, especially if you want to get into law enforcement or fed work. Idk about the other branches, but the one in New England has good management and they're understanding since they started as investigators too.

      Cons

The starting pay is really terrible; I'd recommend starting at $18/hr or more honestly. The learning curve is rough, but once you form a routine you're set. Hours are long and it's a lot of sitting around and waiting. When it's cold it's cold, and when it's hot it's hot. Not much more to it.

      Pros

The friendships you make with other investigators along the way. Some fun competition between everyone on the field team. Those are really the only Pros.

      Cons

Most of these 5 star reviews are fake reviews written by management to boost their approval ratings. That should tell you how shady they are. The office I worked for is extremely toxic with upper management constantly throwing investigators under the bus to preserve their own reputations. YOU CANNOT TRUST ANYONE FROM MANAGEMENT. They will encourage you to break traffic laws and yell at you when you don't. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked for in regards to how they treat their employees. Also say goodbye to your social life, your dog, your girlfriend and the gym. You can earn bonuses for good performance...IF management likes you that month. They messed with my pay in their favor and when I called them on it, they fired me instead of doing the right thing. Additionally they lie to their clients, but that's pretty normal for all the national PI firms. A year and a half later I'm still recovering from pouring my life into this job and working within this toxic environment for 3 years. If you really want to be a PI, look for a small company to get started with.

      Pros

      None that I can recall.

      Cons

Do you enjoy being overworked for terrible pay? What about having zero life balance to go along with that? What about being forced to complete reports off the clock once your long shift is over? If that hasn't won you over yet..don't forget that you'll also be forced to use a bucket in the back of van you'll be stuck in for 10+ hours whenever you have to use the bathroom. If you just crave the feeling of being a subhuman and worked like a slave, you'll fit right in at Digistream!
