Pros
Blown away by the intelligence, work ethic, and ambition of everyone here. Great minds and problem solvers to be surrounded with, charging a problem with no predecessors. Work is extremely comfortable. On my first day, I was shocked at everything I was provided with. The space is more like a studio than office – open and communal, great for constant collaboration and feedback. The structure within the departments is such that everyone is viewed with equal meritocracy. I'm free to drive my own ideas for assigned projects, as well as generate ideas for completely new ones. Work hard, play hard. The company is a great group of people to get along with. It's easy to get away from the office and do something fun when you're feeling a bit stale. It's promoted really. There's a lot of freedom and respect. We trust each other to do their part.
Cons
Blown away by the intelligence. Having come from no kind of financial background, I still have a lot to learn. Sometimes there's a decent learning curve I go through before I can properly deliver. It can be frustrating, but we aren't doing this because it's easy. With the amount of work to be done, it's hard to find time for personal projects, which I put much value on. Yet, with the freedom to drive projects, I've been able to apply personal ideas to Addepar work, creating projects with greater application and reach.
