Pros

- The commission was generous, however your base salary was very average compared to other recruitment jobs in BC. Not worth it just based on the commission.

Cons

- NO flexibility - for personal matters, family emergencies, appointments etc - You do not want to ask for time off as they will not allow it. - It's expected that you stay late every day to fill the business, no consideration for employee's well-being or mental state. - NO work from home days - They advertise flexibility and a hybrid schedule but it couldn't be further from the truth. Manager's promise work from home days if you fill a certain amount of roles which is always unattainable, & even if you do attain it, there will be an additional reason as to why you cannot work from home. - Overworked - work 7:30AM - 5:30PM on average most days and if you were seen to be leaving before that time, prepare to be questioned as to where you're going, what you're doing & a reason as to why you cannot cancel your plans to work on the open roles. - Have openly been told by management that they 'do not care what you have going on outside of work', & telling you to 'Figure it out & Cancel any plans as we are all staying late tonight' - No respect for their staff - they just want to work you until you physically & mentally cannot take it any more & are forced to leave. When you do leave there is no follow up message or nice words from any one member of leadership. - Blackmail - they will promise you things if you stay in or hit a certain target but never actually follow through with their promise. - Messaging every day along the lines of 'you will not be successful in life if you do not meet these professional goals'. - You are expected to stop & drop everything to fill a role. You will be told to 'find a solution' if you cannot find a candidates for a role, not provided any help on the recruit or how we can make this work for both sides. - Manager's expect you to bring & share your personal life experiences / circumstances into work and share with the team so they can 'fully understand what's happening in your life', when it is really a tactic to be able to manage your personal life also and ensure your able to give more to the company.

Pros

Great people, great training, great entry level opportunity to get into recruiting and sales. If you are successful you will make more here than about anywhere else. Performing Recruiters are making $55k-$75k. Great Recruiters are making $100k+. Every large office has salespeople making $200k-$400k. Culture is 100% committed and generally cool type-A's you would want to have a beer with. The skills, drive, and sense of urgency you learn at Aerotek serve you well anywhere you may go later.

Cons

If you are just looking for a low-commitment 8-5 job while posting on social media about where you are partying that night...you will not like Aerotek. Success requires an all in approach both in work ethic and active support of the culture. That is not for everyone. There are Political Science grads 3 years out of college making $200k+, but there is a price to be paid. All the tough work comes first. If you are not up for the level of work and commitment, Aerotek is not for you. If you are, none of this is really a "con" As far a real cons go, the benefits are only OK, and finding work/life balance is pretty difficult.
