Pros

If you have the right boss, best buy is an amazing place to work. Great benefits, great atmosphere. I have been there for over ten years, and have only thought of leaving the company once. Not being in commission has always been a strong point for best buy, and the bonus structure helps. Sales goals obviously exist, but you don't feel in jeopardy of losing your job if you don't hit every now and then.

Cons

If you don't have the right boss, things can be difficult. I've worked for managers who would do anything to win, including cheating, and been performance managed to the point of almost termination for not complying. Some district staff are out of touch and unrealistic.

Pros

-It's a job that is available in most locations.

Cons

-The company, on a corporate level, doesn't seem to grasp the value of the talent they have. - Close ties with Citibank subvert the importance of product knowledge, customer service, and revenue for credit card sales. - Daily Performance check-ins are overbearing and myopic. - Tends to burnout motivated employees with false carrots and hollow promises. - Pay's terrible, and rides the line of predatory at times.
