Pros
It's a job. Decent pay and benefits for the Nashville area. Development groups seem to enjoy their work.
Cons
Any Nashville-based IT support function (networking, system administration, production engineers, database administrators, etc.) have no work/life balance. You're expected to be on-call 24/7/365, even when on PTO. You'll also be expected to work 10 - 12 hour days, every day. Lots of weekend work expected, with no comp time for late night or off hours work. Lots of talk about accountability, but management doesn't empower employees to make changes or decisions that they're being held accountable for. Very high stress levels. Vague requirements and lack of direction from leadership. Frequent turf wars between groups throughout IT. Many of the managers rule by fear and public shaming, and it shows in the employees' attitudes and the atmosphere throughout the office space.
