Pros

I joined LinkedIn 3 years ago in 2020, excited for the amazing culutre I had heard about and felt I found it. Flexible work, Good employee benefits, plenty social events, good work/life balance, a focus on mental health and recognition.

Cons

In the last year at LinkedIn, it has changed from my favoriute place to work throughout entire whole career to my worst. (For anyone looking for reviews, I would look at 2022 onwards). Management has changed to more of a numbers focused team, and basically you are doing well and are in the good books or if you're slipping they want you out of the business. In the last 6 months, 4 of my colleages (about 20% of our department) have been put on performance plans that I know about and everyone has a constant fear that they are next. As a result, most people are stressed and working longer days. Our Employee Experience survey numbers have dropped from about 85/100 to 40/100 as people are overworked, burned out, with little career prospects and fear of job security.

Pros

LinkedIn has a strong engineering culture, smart and supportive teammates, and meaningful product impact at a large scale. I have had opportunities to work on complex systems, collaborate with experienced engineers, and learn from cross-functional partners across product, design, data, and infrastructure. The benefits, flexibility, and internal learning resources are also strong.

Cons

Because the organization is large, decision-making can sometimes be slow, and priorities may shift before projects fully mature. Promotion expectations can feel different across teams, and the number of meetings can make it harder to protect deep-focus engineering time. Cross-team ownership is not always as clear as it could be.
