Pros
I joined NewDay USA as an Account Executive in June 2020. I was a recent college graduate with a few job prospects at the time but I was looking for place to start a career. When someone reached out on LinkedIn, NewDay sounded too good to be true, but from the first day of training in the University I knew I had come to the right place. I still can’t believe the amount of time and resources that this company invests into training our new hires. The class of new hires feels so much like a team, and there are always countless individuals who are invested in your success. Early on you’re paired with a mentor, whose job is to show you the ropes and help you succeed. You have a instructors in the University who are knowledgeable and accessible. It can be a bit scary to join the mortgage industry without mortgage or sales experience, but at NewDay I never felt that way. The investment in the employees definitely does not stop when they pass licensing and start their role. Our CEO, Rob Posner, has proven time and again that he’s dedicated to seeing the NewDay family succeed. In my time here I’ve heard from speakers including Coach John Harbaugh, Captain Charlie Plumb, CEO Coach Sheldon Harris, author and Customer Experience Coach John DiJulius, and many more. I’ve met leaders in sports (I was surprised to find Emmitt Smith in the office one morning!) and the military, and I’ve learned more here than I learned in 4 years of college. Recently, our CEO rolled out the SOUL awards to recognize individuals at NewDay who exemplify the traits of Selflessness, Ownership, Unity, and Larger Purpose. It’s been a genuine and rewarding way to recognize those who set a positive example at the company, with monthly recipients receiving paid vacations for two to the Four Seasons Hotel in the Bahamas, Jackson Hole, Vail, New York, Chicago, or Las Vegas. My journey at NewDay has definitely been an exciting one, and I’m grateful for the people I’ve met along the way. There is an amazing culture here, where like-minded individuals get to grow their industry knowledge and their wealth, while pushing each other to be the best version of themselves. In the past 2 and a half years I’ve had the opportunity to learn different sides of the business, lead sales teams of 30+ Account Executives, develop new lead sources, and move down to the beautiful, sunny West Palm Beach, FL. Best of all, I’ve had the chance to improve the lives of over 250 veteran families.
Cons
If you're looking for a place to sit through a 9-to-5, don't work here. Know your own definition of work-life balance and take this as an opportunity to work hard and create a career, but don't come to NewDay to watch the clock.
