Pros

The benefits at Nuance are pretty awesome. For instance, the fact that they reimburse for continuing education (with the condition you recieve an A in the course) is pretty nice. It provides you with some possibly upward mobility. However, that mobility is nearly impossible at Nuance itself because many employees feel ignored. Being ignored has it's pros. For instance even during deadlines, management may forget to check up on you. The employee stock purchase program is pretty awesome. Not only is it a great way to save money but it provides some incentive for the employee to achieve company goals.

Cons

Besides seeing your stock going up in price, there really isn't a lot of rewards given to employees for acheiving anything. Many people in the HR department need to take some human-resource education courses themselves. They constantly screw things up, and then get very angry when you confront them. Maybe they are overworked, I'm not sure. The worst part of working for Nuance is right now they have frozen all merritt raises, yet every single week they manage to aquire a new company. I understand that aquisitons and company growth are important to a company's success, but a little attention to current employees and their conditions should be first priority. Me and many of my colleagues haven't received a raise in years! However our performance reviews were all very good. It's dissapointing to get emails every week from senior management that exude excitement over the newest company they bought out, when you are struggling to pay your increasing taxes and energy costs.

Pros

The company offers excellent training and a thorough onboarding process, helping new hires feel well-prepared and confident. The small, close-knit teams foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where you never feel lost in the crowd. Employees take pride in the innovative technology and software being developed, which is recognized as impactful within the industry. (Note: The company was acquired by Microsoft to bring potential for future growth.)

Cons

While the company excels in many areas, there’s limited upward mobility, especially in certain career paths, which can be frustrating for those seeking advancement. Additionally, feedback from employees often feels like it’s not taken seriously, which can lead to disengagement when trying to influence change or improve processes.
