Pros

Great benefits. Good compensation (better if hired in at a position as opposed to promoting from within.) Internal Promotions are there and happen frequently. Although with new ownership and CEO that appears to be changing rapidly.

Cons

Nepotism and favoritism are very evident within the company. If you want to make it in this company, get someone to befriend you. Hang out with them, have their kids play with your kids, etc. Performance punishment leads this company. You can lead the entire company in a specific metric and you will be expected to grow that 5-10% the next year. Be prepared to cancel vacations and completely disrupt your home life for PetSmart.

Pros

If you have experience they can pay very well considering the size of the company. Depending on which store you are in, they can be pretty good at fostering a good environment and culture.

Cons

Company is primarily focused on sales and not customer experience. So expect a lot of metrics and hounding customers. Company is trying to be technologically forward but continues to neglect to invest in the technology. So there’s updates every week crashes every week with no communication around it.
