It's really important for us to hear all of your feedback — we can't make things better if we don't know where to direct our attention. As for building an inclusive team, I understand your frustration. It's something we focus on every day and recognize it's a work in progress. Shopify is continuing to make efforts through more diverse hiring practices, more representative benefits, and internal education like unconscious bias training. If you're interested in learning more — or providing your thoughts on how we could do better — please reach out to our inclusion team on Slack. I understand how important it is to connect with a company's culture, and while I can't speak directly to what you've experienced, I'd love to hear your feedback on how we can do better. Our culture places a large emphasis on trust and individual ownership and I feel we've done a good job at keeping politics out of Shopify's culture. That said, there's always room to improve. I'm sorry you're having trouble with your lead. We promote individuals into leadership positions who have shown they can make an impact leading their team technically and professionally. Our internal leadership training, Lead Level Up, is a great effort to help our leads grow. That said, direct feedback from their team is always the best option to make sure they are continuing to do better.
