Pros

- Incredible team managers that genuinely care about you and are able to motivate the team while keeping the job non - stressful which is rare. - Amazing team who are funny, intelligent and helpful. Everyone pitches in for tight deadlines if they happen. - Good knowledge sharing within the team as everyone had different backgrounds, while managers enabled us to develop our individual strengths. - Lovely wider economics teams who are helpful and interesting. - Good learning opportunities as we worked on a wide range of projects. I learned so much from those more experienced than me. Overall my experience was very positive and I attribute this to luck of having a great team. Never got Sunday scaries, looked forward to seeing colleagues. Everyone in the London office was friendly and welcoming. I will really miss working here.

Cons

- Below market salary with poor pay progression. Unclear if Stantec care about retention at all. Within 2 months of searching for a job i was offered 3 roles all with over 50% more pay. - Stantec upper management sets pay increases rather than team management, who have better knowledge on market rates for their team members skillsets. - Stantec does not provide adequate time to develop technical skills as they are so focussed on utilisation rates. If it was up to team managers i believe they would give time if they thought it would help job performance. - AL has to be taken over the Christmas period. It should be the employees choice when they want to take their leave.

Pros

Working as an Administrative Assistant at Stantec involves a wide range of responsibilities and can be highly rewarding for those who are motivated and proactive. The office environment is positive, and colleagues are approachable and collaborative. Being part of a large international organization also brings a strong sense of pride and purpose to the role.

Cons

One downside of working at Stantec is the uncertainty around job security, as organizational restructuring and cost-saving measures can sometimes lead to unexpected layoffs.

Pros

Hybrid Work and access to useful engineering tools

Cons

Projects are inconsistent in organization and structure (some good some bad). High (and strict) utilization requirements of >93% for entry level and mid level engineers results in overtime with overlapping work loads to avoid any downtime between projects. No development or mentorship strategy around work assignments, the main goal is to keep utilization up. Stantec has been very focused on cutting costs by offshoring, limiting conference attendance, reducing volunteer hours, no tuition reimbursement, multiple layers of approvals to attend in-office CPR training, etc. Very corporate environment and top heavy management with over 240+ “Vice Presidents” currently at the company. Difficult to get raises/promotions besides annual raise. Typical raise is ~3-5% with a good review depending on where your current salary is in relation to the pay range for your career level.
