Pros

Resonable pay when compared to other local retail. Benefits such as 401K, Medical etc. are among the best in retail. 10% discount on all purchases is helpful.

Cons

In a little over 2 years at my present store, I have seen in excess of 20 ETL's come through the door. Of that only two have moved on to other positions/stores. The remainder have either quit, or "been promoted to guest", as they like to say. The poor performers in the store have learned to just wait them out. Even among team leads, we don't bother to learn their names until they have been here at least 6 weeks. Despite all the talk of diversity at Target, the senoir leadership at our store and at the district level, looks nothing like the makeup of the employees or the communities in which these Targets operate. The difference is stark in both terms of race, cultural background, and age. Of the recent ETL's to come through here, the vast majority are recent college grads who have very little expierence or (as in the case of a recent HR ETL for which this was her first job.....ever), none. Having worked for Target off and on for about 8 years, I have witnessed first hand the decline of the company. Target store leadership seems to have lost sight of the basic ideas of retail.....get it to the floor and sell it. Go to the back, see what you got...get it out. If its Super Bowl time, there is a reason for the Budwiser and chips pallets.
