Great remote work and benefits, but little room for growth and lackluster leadership - Associate Product Manager Ticketmaster Employee Review

Pros

Allows remote work. Unlimited PTO. Decent benefits. 2 weeks off at the winter holidays baked in for all employees. Opportunity to buy tickets without fees.

Cons

Advancement is challenging, you can work for years doing work above your level in the career ladder, your supervisor can recommend you for promotion in multiple review cycles, but promotions are not merit based, and given only event there is "a slot". This leads to unqualified people in leadership, and genuine talent stagnating. Leadership spends time nitpicking individual workflows, instead of defining what success looks like and thinking strategically.

Pros

Benefits were great across the board. Any kind of help and support you'd need, they probably had it.

Cons

I was laid off for no reason after more than five years because they're "flattening layers, consolidating ownership, changing how teams are structured and ensuring that we put more energy behind specific initiatives." Or at least, that's what Saumil Mehta said. We've had record profits YOY, and quarterly earnings show nothing but growth. But perhaps that's because they keep firing people before giving them bonuses. Absolutely disgusting behavior from a company, and unfortunately, everyone saw the handwriting on the wall as soon as Saumil Mehta stepped in. Ticketmaster used to prioritize employees AND its users. Now all they see are dollar signs, and to be quite frank, I'm glad to be rid of them.
