Pros
Fortune 500, great benefits, supportive peers, & opportunity for growth. You can lose a lot of weight rather quickly if you stay on the Union. Union is very beneficial. They have your back. Got to blast my music as loud as I wanted and rock out to KPop/Ariana Grande/ and the best break-up songs the world will ever know. Preparing me for future karaoke divorce court. The rest of the warehouse too. 😈
Cons
Everyone has to start somewhere, and it's usually a less desirable position. Hours (pre-COVID) were sometimes erratic. While there is a general flow and expectations for some days to be a certain way, none of us can truly predict what might happen in the shipping process. Peak season is intense. There were times when unexpected flows would arrive off schedule and causing a surge of packages. Depending on where you are in the warehouse, those things could come FLYING at you. The sort had to get it off the belt, maybe didn't have good grip on it. Maybe they were getting caught in the flow with the packages. Whatever it may be. This job isn't well suited for someone less aware of their surroundings. While the Union may have your back, it's important to support them in return. It might be difficult to actually take 2 minutes to listen to the representative trying to update you with relevant information when you just clocked out. However, these people are on your team.
