Pros

Working on the floor or as a store manager at Walgreen's has a few main benefits. First, there are stores all over the united states so no matter where you live there is a store near by. Walgreen's is also very good bout working at multiple store locations, although the assistant managers get relocated one time a year or so. I have worked at multiple stores, one of which had a very good store manager, all of the store workers liked him and did not mind working hard for him and did so, if your store has good managers it can be somewhat enjoyable.

Cons

The worst thing about working in a Walgreen's either as a floor worker or as an assistant manager are the hours. usually you will have to work either from 7:30 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon or noon to about 11 pm. Walgreen's are open everyday and most employees are required one of thanksgiving, christmas or new years. i worked at one store where the manager was not well liked by the rest of the workers, which makes working there unpleasant as it was always a topic of conversation, this is true for both store managers and assistant managers.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
