Pros

Interact, network, and form relationships with people in nearby towns and cities. There is a good potential for growth in the company.

Cons

Within the past year, Walgreens Executives have decided to make several drastic changes within the company. For one, almost all store level job titles were changed so that the powers-that-be were free to legally change the pricing structure of each of these roles. So, now employees who thought they would be entitled to a raise every 6-12 months for as long as they remained with the company, were told that there would now be a wage ceiling and place which would place a limit on the amount of money one could earn in his/her current role within the company. I could go on, but I have to get back to the job search...so uh, 'Be Well' I guess! (For those who don't know, I'm referencing the recently installed manditory, and excessively awkward, salutation that someone within Walgreens thought would be fun for everyone to say...)

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
