Pros

the only plus to working for this company now is for profit sharing ---- they match almost 3 to 1

Cons

-#1 UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT ( pharmacy and store managers (not MGT/EXA )) -cutbacks on hours in the busiest pharmacy in the dristrict when profits have increased over the last year - treat employees like door mats, they get walked all over - management discussing personal, confidential information with non-management employees - working in a 24 hour store------enough said - the #1 most profitable company in the WORLD is firing like crazy, yet is in a hiring freeze - putting more workload on non-salary employees, and getting rid of salary-based positions - people that work in the pharmacy need to make more money----the pharmacy is at least 70% of the sales and do way more important things than getting change and stocking shelves ( sorry managers) but thats just the way it is. Who cares about photo, cosmetics, or suggestive sale....focus on the core of your company----you are sloganed "the pharmacy america trusts" you wanna make cuts-----cut managements $ and redistribute it to the ones who really affect your corporate bonuses and pay your mortgages.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
