It's a job, I guess. - Overnight Stocker Walmart Employee Review

Pros

It's a job. There are benefits, and I hear rumors that people get promoted on occasion. The my share bonus is a nice addition to your check every few months, after you've been working there for at least a full year. I had to attend a funeral recently of a close family member, and was given three days off with pay, so that was nice in that time of stress.

Cons

The pay is low, the hours are not so great on third shift. My store is moderately understaffed right now, making everyone have to work a little more than is expected. There is a stigma attached to being a Wal-Mart employee - people will look down on you, no matter who you are.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
