Thanks for writing this. It is unfortunate that you feel the need to write a comment in a public forum rather than raise your concerns directly. Real leaders raise concerns directly and openly and work through them. The facts are the inclement weather team made the decision at 5:30 a.m. that the offices were open and it was BAU (I am not on the team). I never ask anyone to do anything I won't do myself. I did drive myself to work as I always do. I welcome the feedback but please try to get the facts straight in the future.

A major concern within most organizations is that a certain employee receives preferential treatment or is promoted into a position for which they are not qualified. This is a common risk in most companies and is not isolated to just relative relationships. More often than not, this type of “breach of trust” occurs with friendship relationships. Unequal treatment of employees regardless of the relationship (friend, relative, partner or prior colleague) is not acceptable at Exeter. Every Exeter employee is expected to perform their daily assignment for which they are compensated. Exeter has a strict nepotism policy, which prevents relatives from reporting to one another or exposes Exeter to malfeasance. Often times nepotism is created after an employee’s start date given common workplace relationships. Given these circumstances, Exeter treats both types of Nepotism (pre & post-employment) cases the same. In addition, we believe Exeter’s improved profitability is a reflection of our strategy to bring in, retain and promote individuals that exhibit our culture of excellence.
