Pros

The company maintains a very nice office space for customer meetings and demonstrations. Most of the technical engineers have many years experience, and overall everyone works very hard. The office location is easy to get to with plenty of parking. Compensation is often better than others.

Cons

Management style is unfocused, fragmented, and confusing to navigate. Project management skills are sorely needed. Not much opportunity for training or advancement. Extremely competitive environment makes collaboration almost impossible. Management frequently belittles and embarasses employees which frequently lead to moral problems. Lack of focus often leaves staff directionless. In the effort to achive vendor certification and recognition - the process of educating staff and respecting vendor licensing is often trown aside. Management is often arbitrary - there are no well understood guidelines or company policy.

Pros

Exceptionally talented and experienced engineers - very smart sales force. Company has an interist in advanced technologies. Certifications are highly valued, and continued certification is a high focus. The coffee is worth drinking. Customer base is very loyal, and company has serveral long term relationships.

Cons

Goals & job objectives are not clearly communicated by management. Poor setting of customer expectations means many hours of "off hours" work. Poor respect for individual members of team (often embarassed in meetings). Cheating on vendor certifications is encouraged by management. The company does not always respect copyright and licensing policies of the vendors it serves. Company seems split into two groups - cisco and microsoft technologies.

Pros

The salaries are above industry standard and jobs often involve work on new and interisting technologies. Environment is good for the individual who is a self-starter and does not need a lot of directoion or management.

Cons

Completely unbalanced work ethic does not allow for a balanced life (eg home life). Exceptionally poor project managment requires marathon hours of working to make up for the fact that customer expectations are never managed. This sometimes creates monster customers who's expectations are out of control and are impossible to please. Senior management has a habit of blaming employess for the poor management of the company. Projects are not fairly assigned - with consideration for geography, or considering developing additional skill sets. Company preferrs to hire from the outside, rather than developing and promoting from the inside.
