I worked at Flowserve full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Offer 401k and Pension, vacation, personal and sick time. The location I worked at had a small company mentality when it come to employee camaraderie at least in the shop

    Cons

Employees are just a number. they don't care about the quality of your work. you are a plastic doll to the CEO's who are just trying to appease shareholders at the employees expense. Not a real Human Resource department at this facility. Get as much as you can compensation wise coming in the door because their raises leave a lot to be desired. No other way to put it but Management flat out SUCKS. They couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and get out of your own way.

I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I like my job. Pay is decent, the people on my team are good people and I enjoy our office. The company is experiencing a downturn right now because oil is down, but luckily my site has not had any layoffs. The company itself is pretty good but not the best. Good 401k, offers a pension (which almost no company does), ok medical, and a little above average pay.

    Cons

The management at our local facility however, is lacking. There is no consistency, no follow through, no involvement, and no engagement. if you are not an engineer there is very limited growth available to you.

    Advice to Management

Get involved! Learn the basics so you can understand the struggles of your team and the problems in the processes. You are completely out of touch and unknowledgeable.

I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A steady pay check and the company has a pension plan. Rare nowadays.

    Cons

You will most likely not get your 5 percent bonus. And whatever your starting pay is will all you get. Not even a cost of living raise. And they don't like to train people.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and they will take care of you. Stop putting un experienced disrespectful "boys" in lead positions. Pasadena QRC pump division. Perhaps look at resumes for more qualified candidates and stop the favoritism.

I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Local managment is responsive to employees. Safety is a priority at all Flowserve facilities.

    Cons

Merit pay increases are meager, often not even keeping up with cost-of-living even for high-performing employees. Incentive bonuses have been delayed for two of the past three years.

    Advice to Management

Employee development and superior performance should be rewarded, else employees will begin to look elsewhere for employment opportunities.
