Pros

Very capable and intelligent executive team, most of whom came from McKenzie Consulting. I really enjoyed their summer hours. If you choose so in the summer, you can come in earlier and work 7 to 5 Mon - Thurs and then leave at 11 on Fridays.

Cons

Upward mobility is quite dependent on someone else leaving. Many employees have been with Genesco for 15+ years so it's difficult to get and move upward.

Pros

The pay with Genesco is decent, and the benefits are pretty good. The 401k matching is definitely a plus.

Cons

terrible corporate culture, lack of leadership engagement, wishy washy on jobs. One minute hybrid and one minute everyone has to be in the office regardless of the burden. If a leader doesn't like you they will tank your entire review based off a perceived failure in a single area. It's a joke to actually ask for fairness and a voice. HR doesn't follow through on issues raised, it just gets swept under the rug.

Pros

You'll meet some cool people, everyone I met there was super nice... The supervisors and cat team would help me out even if I needed help like 20 times in a day

Cons

There were a good amount of cons, the biggest con, and the reason why I quit was because I felt like I was lied to. I was told I was getting "promoted" to the A-team, they made it seem like it was a huge promotion. I accepted the offer, and they told me I would be working 6 pm to 3 am instead of 2pm to 11 pm. So a day later after I accepted the job I asked how much more I would be getting paid and they said "well because you have an easier job you won't be getting paid more, the promotion is that it is easier." So I felt like I was tricked into a job with worse hours. Another con is the joke of a training course they have.... 4 DAYS of training, then they throw you on the phones.... I did like the trainers, and I felt like if they had more time they could teach us a lot more, but no one can learn that much information in 4 days, I worked their for about 5 months and even toward the end there were still many things I wasn't really sure about. And then they start having you cross train for different companies even though you don't even fully know the first company they trained you for, and no you don't get paid anymore money for learning every single company there and taking every companies phone calls. The break situation was terrible as well, they usually have hour breaks, but when I started working there they would only give us 30 minute breaks because they were in back to school season, this lasted from July to I think late September or early October. And one last con, I found out that there was a person from my training class who was making a dollar more than me, the person who got the "promotion" to the A-team and the person who took really terrible hours didn't deserve as much as someone else from their training class..... And no she didn't get a raise or anything they just started her off making more money than me
