    Pros

    Local personnel and management were great to work with and values their employees.
    Okay benefits and excellent training opportunities internal and external.

    Cons

    Upper management didn't care about growing the operations just cut, cut, cut.
    They also made sales renew contacts at any cost just to keep the business.

    Pros

    At one time they were a worldwide IT consulting and services powerhouse.

    Cons

    Poor management practices led company to sell off its american division. Probably a good thing for the american employees of Getronics - those that did not get laid off that is.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in employee compensation and retention programs.

    Pros

    Good place to start. They give you a solid foundation to learn from.

    Cons

    Not very many growth opportunities. Pay is low range for the job that is done.

    Advice to Management

    Implement raises after a review and make sure you are paying at least mid range for each position.

    Pros

    Benefits are the only thing that is good to look forward too.

    Cons

    No pay increase or compenstation for increased job duties and tasks. No proper training for these increased job duties. No performace reviews are conducted by management. Management all works mostly remotely and have limited face to face interaction with employees. No opportunity for professional or career growth with this company.

    Advice to Management

    Give proper training for tasks that are given to employees especially when they expect only the highest level of support. Not only do the employees need the appropiate training for these duties, management should at least evaluate employees performance and provide compensation for increased job rolls.

    Pros

    The company does alow managers to be somewhat flexible interms of working hours and working from home to compleate projects and tasks.

    Cons

    No visonary Leadership in the company as evidenced by the constant downsizing and shift in buisness priorities

    Advice to Management

    I think it has been given as they have been sold off to another company and as a result the north american buisness was sold to a competetator.

    Pros

    Getronics can be an incredible opportunity to break into Information Technology at ALL levels. Access to a wealth of technology and educational opportunities. The company is an established figure in the IT Outsource community.

    Cons

    Advancement structure was poor at best - work output and personal/professional development rarely a factor in receiving advancement opportunities. Management interaction with employess was generally demoralizing. Very little disregard for employees' families, especially in times of loss of loved ones or tragedies. Essentially employees were treated like a face in the crowd. Payscales not competitive.

    Advice to Management

    Pay attention to employees that are offering solutions to problems. "Promote from within" should be a practice and not a idea. Competitive salaries will drive your employees. For a company whose product is to provide IT solutions to customers worldwide, it should be clear that communication within the company should be open and Senior Management should be "In Touch" with it's most valuable asset - it's employees. Without the right employees, you do not have the right solutions to offer customers. Based on the experience I had within Getronics, I could never recommend them as a good choice for employment or as a solution to prospective customer.

    You can work in shorts and a T-shirt.

    Cons

    Maintain a presence at the main office. Report in often and let your boss know you are alive and productive.

    Pros

    There was nothing good about this company. It was on it's way out.

    Cons

    They stopped spending money in MA and moved everything to EU before selling it.
